Tonight I drilled out and welded in new captive bolts for the plate that sits under the pedals (not that I have one at the moment! The captive nuts had sheared off and as luck would have it a colleague at work gave me three bolts with nuts which he had picked out of a skip! They are a little larger that the originals but that's all to the better. I also managed to get access to a captive plate for the lower driver side door hinge. The screw had sheared in the captive plate so I cut in and welded a nut on the back and closed it back over. I'll stitch it up with a weld and put some paint on it but given the repair panel sits over it I'm not too bothered. I'm looking now for a spot welder to do the big repair on the front. I'll probably have to hire one but I'm keen to have all the panels lined up and ready before going to the hire shop.
