Floor jig-saw

Finished off the floor today. When I started off the project I decided not to go for a whole new floor but as I have gone on I'm thinking I should have just done it while I was at it. Anyways, it's all welded in now (apart from a few welds underneath). I welded it in in two pieces as the panel wasn't big enough. I also had to flatten the edge nearest the sill so that I could get the b-post square against it and have it tidy at the other end as well. Quite pleased with the end result. I'll need to do quite a bit of prep before paint but the panel fits nicely. Just a few welds to finish this bit and then do a series of small jobs on this side before starting on the load bed. It's likely to take a while getting that sitting right but I've ordered up some replacement reinforcement top hat sections as 4 are shot due to rot.

Bottom of b (?) post

Here's a little job that I has been left unattended to. It's the bottom of the b post. Atleast I think that's what it is called. I've not welded it in as I wanted to paint behind it before hand. It's pretty cold out tonight but I've put some seam sealant on anyway. I'll weld it up tomorrow. I had to make up the panel with some left over Gerson parts. It needed a bit extended but it will weld in fine.

Finished off the door pillar bottom

Picture speaks for itself really. I finished welding the floor in and then got to work on the bottom of the door pillar. I had a small hole to fill as the dog leg didn't quite fit in to the door pillar. Once I finished that off I used a bit of metal from a
kitchen drawer (thanks to Stevie!) to add in the channel for the door seal. The original was missing from this side. I'm pleased with the end result. I then folded over the front apron lip and tacked it at the bottom. It needs a final tidy up here and there but it's largely done. I'm going to do the underside of the floor panel to make sure it is in properly before taking off the braces. Then I'll hand the door again and see what it looks like.

Front floor (nearly) welded in

Here's a rather rushed picture of the floor panel welded in. I've
done the seam and the spot welds on the edges. Just need to turn it over now and put a few welds on the underside before finishing off the little bits and pieces like the lip to take the kick panel at the bottom. I'll probably make it up with a bit of thin metal. I plan to also take back the rest of the cab floor down to bare metal and give it a good coat of paint. There's a few pin holes that need welded up too. I'm going to try and blitz the wee jobs this week.

Cab Floor

Cut and fitted the cab floor this morning. Needs to be welded in now.
